How Altcoins.bg and AMLBot achieved a breakthrough once considered impossible

For years, one sentence has echoed throughout the crypto industry:

“Once the funds are sent, there is no way back.”

Until recently, this was the painful reality for thousands of victims of investment scams.

Today, we can officially say that in Bulgaria this is no longer an absolute truth.

How it all started

After we announced the partnership between Altcoins.bg and AMLBot on our blog, we were contacted by clients who had fallen victim to crypto investment scams.

They had already sent funds to unknown individuals posing as “investment advisors”. The moment they became suspicious, the clients did something extremely important. They reacted immediately.

Why?

They had read our article about the partnership with AMLBot and realized that there was now a real mechanism for action.

The real investigation begins

The Altcoins.bg team, together with AMLBot, launched a full blockchain investigation:

- tracing transactions across multiple blockchain networks

- analyzing wallets, intermediary addresses, and fund movements

- identifying risky and linked addresses

- collecting evidence and technical documentation

During the process, coordination was also established with GDBOP, which made it possible for the actions to be carried out in the correct order and with the necessary legal weight.

It is important to emphasize that GDBOP is the institution that, through administrative and legal authority, has the power to request the freezing and recovery of assets.

While the Altcoins.bg and AMLBot teams can trace, analyze, and locate funds on the blockchain, it is precisely the professional intervention of GDBOP that turned these efforts into a real legal procedure.

Without their involvement, expertise, and institutional role, this successful outcome would not have been possible.

The result that until recently seemed impossible

As a result of this investigation, we managed to:

- freeze part of the funds before they were fully drained

- recover part of the stolen assets back to the clients

This is the first documented case in Bulgaria where, after a crypto investment scam, there has been actual recovery of funds thanks to blockchain analysis and timely action.

Why this case is so important

This breakthrough changes several fundamental things:

- it proves that crypto is not a “wild west” without rules

- it shows that with the right partners, scammers can be stopped

- it gives hope to victims who previously believed everything was lost

- it sends a strong signal to scammers that their anonymity is not guaranteed

For years, Altcoins.bg has actively fought crypto scams through educational materials, articles, and warnings.

Today, for the first time, we can say that we now have a partner with whom we do not just warn, but actually act and win the battle.

The most important takeaway

The key factor for success in this case was fast reaction.

The earlier help is sought:

- the greater the chance that the funds can be traced

- the more likely it is that part of them can be frozen

That is why we continue to actively talk about this topic.

The fight against scammers continues.

But for the first time, it is no longer one-sided.
